Loren Mowszowski

Dr Loren Mowszowski is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Loren has five years of clinical experience working with people with brain disorders. She has completed a specialist Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Neuropsychology) degree at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.

Loren's training and clinical experience have led to a speciality in older adult neuropsychology, with a focus on neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders. Loren is a clinical research neuropsychologist at the Ageing Brain Centre, Brain and Mind Research Institute and works with older adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment, late-life depression, Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. She is involved in several clinical research trials investigating the efficacy of a cognitive intervention in preventing or slowing down cognitive decline in older adults with cognitive symptoms and/or mood disturbances, as well as in people with Parkinson's disease. Loren has undergone extensive training in Cognitive Remediation and Cognitive Training, and has assisted Dr Keri Diamond and A/Prof Sharon Naismith in developing and delivering a combined Cognitive Training and Psychoeducation Program for older adults, which operates at the Ageing Brain Centre, Brain and Mind Research Institute. She is also involved in a clinical research trial which aims to clarify the nature and progression of late-life cognitive and mood disorders.

Loren is the co-founder of ReNeuro, a private practice centre for Clinical Neuropsychological Services, which also aims to work collaboratively with other clinicians in the community who have a specialised interest in optimizing healthy brain ageing. In this context, Loren provides neuropsychological assessments for diagnostic purposes and to inform on-going management. She also provides individually-tailored, one-on-one cognitive rehabilitation services which involve psychoeducation, strategy-based training and computerised cognitive training to help patients cope with and compensate for their cognitive difficulties.
