Rosalyn Lai

Dr Rosalyn Lai graduated in Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2004, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She completed her specialist training in psychiatry in the South Eastern Sydney and Northern Sydney Local Health Districts and has a wide clinical training experience that has included Generalist Adult Psychiatry, Drug and Alcohol, Psychiatry of Old Age, Intellectual Disability and Perinatal Psychiatry.

Dr Lai was awarded a New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry Research Fellowship in 2012, and was a recipient of the Pfizer Neuroscience Research Grant in 2013. Her research was in the field of treatment-resistant depression and was undertaken at The Black Dog Institute, in collaboration with NeuRa. Her work has been published in peer- reviewed journals and has received attention in mainstream media through ABC’s Catalyst program. Dr Lai has also been a Conjoint Clinical Lecturer in the School of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales.

Dr Lai works as a Staff Specialist providing psychogeriatric care in the Northern Sydney Local Health District. She is also currently involved in clinical and research work at the KaRa Institute of Neurological Diseases.

Dr Lai has expertise in the management of psychiatric disorders in adults over the age of 16, and has a particular interest in mood and anxiety disorders, old age psychiatry and dementia care, and psychosis.
